Volunteer with Us

Volunteering at the Picture Gardens is a fantastic way to meet new people and create fun, social experiences for the whole community. Our outdoor cinema runs entirely on the energy and generosity of local volunteers — without your help, there'd be no movies under the stars!
Each week during the season, we call on community members to help run the show. Whether you can offer your time just once or want to be a regular part of the team, we welcome you. The more people we have on the volunteer register, the easier and more enjoyable the experience is for everyone.

Volunteer tasks are simple, and you'll always have someone there to guide you. Plus, you might even get the chance to kick back and enjoy a movie too!

Volunteer duties may include:

Selling snacks and drinks at the kiosk
Helping set up kiosk items
Selling tickets at the gate
Putting out rubbish bins
Checking and tidying amenities
Assisting with pack-up and clean-up at the end of the night

No ongoing commitment required — even one night makes a big difference to your community cinema.

The Kununurra Picture Gardens has been a cherished part of our community since 1963. Run entirely by volunteers, KPG screens up to 60 movies annually, bringing the latest releases to our remote area.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on the generosity of sponsors to keep this special service alive. Your support helps us maintain and upgrade our facilities while contributing to the cultural vibrancy of Kununurra.
